Great Web Design in the SEO Services Industry

Whilst I would never recommend that you pick an SEO agency based on their look and feel (after all, shouldn’t they be spending more time ranking sites, rather than designing them?) – there are some very special looking SEO consultancy websites out there which I really do like.  I have not used their SEO services, and obviously never will considering I work for another search agency.  However, that doesn’t stop me from appreciating them from an aesthetic perspective.  In no particular order here are some that I really like.

Expert SEO Bournemouth

This is a superb example of how an SEO company can look good, yet still show that they are results-focused.  The website is 100% responsive meaning it will work on mobile devices, and the design is divided up into great sections which address what a potential customer would want to know before employing them.

Check out their Bournemouth SEO Services page where the services are neatly compressed into an accordion style piece of HTML code.

They are meant to be one of the leading SEO agencies in the United Kingdom according to their recent blog post.  Putting the numbers aside for one moment, what I like is the visuals and large images used on the site.  As you can see from the screenshot below they are currently running an SEO campaign advertising how they pitch themselves as the future of search and digital. You won’t find me arguing – they are very good at what they do.

Check out their website in full.

My final design inspirational SEO agency for today’s blog post is the Distilled SEO Company.  They have a very simple design, which is just extremely easy to use.  I’ve screen-grabbed their homepage below, but take a look around their whole site including the different SEO services they have on offer.

Visit the Distilled website to view the design.

If you see any other cool looking SEO agencies with a great website then please get in touch with me so I can update this list.

Rescuing a Website from Bad SEO and a Google Penalty

Nowadays some of the older SEO techniques are now obsolete and no longer work in Google.  After two years of what seems like constant Google Panda and Penguin updates many websites owners are still not taking any action when really they should be.

It’s sometimes hard to get a website back if it’s suffered a Google penalty but I have had some success with getting rankings back quickly.  On some client websites I have re-written over-optimised URLs, removed elements of keyword stuffing, and removed bad links previously put in place by another SEO agency… all part of the hard working day of a reputable SEO!

Following these changes, the website stabilized across Google for competitive keywords and actually gained rankings back despite the strong competition.  It has now hit some very good results in terms of visibility which were improvements on before.

In a couple of weeks I will delve into this topic a lot deeper but just wanted you to know that it is possible to recover from a Google penalty.

PS: Here’s a good video overview of what the Google Penguin Update was and what it meant for the search engine optimisation industry.
